ORC Week 1 | Eclectic Living Room Plans

It’s time for another One Room Challenge! This time around, the living room in our Edwardian semi is getting a makeover. Woot. If you’re not familiar, the ORC is a biannual event where a whole bunch of interior “influencers” transform a room over (usually) six weeks, posting progress deets every week. This time round, we get an extra couple of weeks, because of the Corona sh*tstorm. So much amazing design inspo comes out of this event, and I’ve loved swooning… View Post

The Difference The Right Window Treatments Can Make & A Boy’s Room Mood Board

Well, hi! I did not plan to be away from the blog for as long as I have been. We just got back from three weeks of visiting family and friends Stateside, and although I had grand plans to blog over there, it just didn’t happen. I’ve been working on lots of very exciting things though, and I’ve got a backlog of fun stuff to share with you, starting with a few updates to the boy’s room! This space got some… View Post

Design Board: An Industrial, Art Deco-Inspired Bedroom

Design Board: An Industrial, Art Deco-Inspired Bedroom

It’s been a while since I shared a fantasy mood board. Today’s bedroom design all started with the bed. It’s definitely a bit more glam than I tend to go for, but I kinda love the Art Deco lines on the headboard, and the Scandi-style feet with their little brass ends are just so pretty. Rather than go all-out luxe, though, I decided to pair the glamourous bed with a few industrial touches, because you know that’s my jam. And… View Post

Mood Board: Industrial Inspiration for an NYC Apartment Design

I would very happily live in the imaginary home featured in today’s design plan. It’s a mood board for an NYC apartment design that I put together as part of an application to design school (!!!) It features lots of the industrial details I love combined with organic elements and a refined colour palette with on-trend accents of deep green. The client Male, early 30s, single, fabulous. Works in fashion PR in New York City. Loves to entertain. The brief Give character… View Post

Mood Board: A Black And White Bathroom with Wood and Brass Accents

If we owned our home, rather than renting it, there are definitely a few changes I’d want to make. High up on the priority list would definitely be a black and white bathroom renovation for our master suite. Of course, I already have an idea of what I’d do! A monochrome palette would work well with our master bedroom, but adding brass and wood accents would warm the scheme up and keep it feeling cosy. This is a look that I’ve pinned variations… View Post

e-Design: A Calm Country Cottage Living Room

e-Design: A Calm Country Cottage Living Room

I’ve been working on an e-Design plan for the cottage living room of one of the loveliest families ever. They’ve got two gorgeous kids, aged 4 and 2, and they wanted to carve out an adult space free from all the plastic paraphenalia that comes with living with small people. Inspiration The brief was a calm, clean, clutter-free area space with a traditional vibe, “typical of a Country Living feature.” I pulled together a few photos that, I thought, summarised the… View Post

e-Design: A Vintage-Inspired Boys’ Bedroom

e-Design: A Vintage-Inspired Boys’ Bedroom

A couple of months ago, I did an e-Design for a shared boys’ bedroom. They’re the oldest two (age six and eight) in a family of five children. Their bedroom is big and bright, with a gorgeous fireplace and lovely high ceilings. It had been newly painted in Farrrow & Ball’s Ammonite (a soft, warm grey), and had new carpet installed, so the design was really all about finishing touches to create a calmer, more cohesive space. They listed their needs/wants… View Post

Design Board: A Moody Bar AKA Girl Cave

Design Board: A Moody Bar AKA Girl Cave

I’ve been very much digging dark, intimate spaces lately, and today’s design board is just that. It’s pretty monochrome, with the dark charcoal walls echoed in the bar, art work, and rug. The bar stools, from Chairish, were actually the jumping off point for this whole design. The rich leather warms up all the grey and blue, then gold accents turn this otherwise masculine space into a cozy girl cave. Also, those bubble pendants. Yes please. Let’s break it down and tot up… View Post
