e-Design: Transitional Family Media Room

I’m sharing another example of my e-Design services today, this time for a US client. This family had a large room with a slightly challenging layout, which they wanted to turn into casual space for lounging and watching TV with a transitional aesthetic. Get the Look | Sketch London

Sketch has been on my list of places to check out for afternoon tea for a long time. I mean, look at this place: A lot of the elements could work in a residential space too. The artwork at Sketch is by David Shrigley, who I love. His prints aren’t insanely expensive, but you could also opt for a similar (less humourous) aesthetic with black and white sketched prints from Etsy. e-Design: A Cheerful Jeeves & Wooster Inspired Living Room

I’ve officially launched my e-Design services, and today I’m sharing a full design plan I put together for a UK client so you can see what my e-Design services include. My client, KP, wanted a Jeeves & Wooster-inspired living room (i.e. with 1930s Art Deco touches) that felt bright and cheery. He already had table lamps, a large gold mirror, and had recently picked up an Oriental coffee table on eBay. He loves leather furniture, and wanted a sofa bed for overnight… View Post

Mood Board: Dining and Living Room Design Plans

Mood Board: Dining and Living Room Design Plans

So we have a deal. J is allowed to buy some fancy (yet, in my humble opinion, unnecessary) computer thing and I am allowed my equally fancy (yet also not entirely necessary) Chesterfield! Woot! I’m not sure he really understands what he’s agreed to, but I’m going with it, and quick, before he changes his mind. In light of that, I’ve nailed down my dining and living room design plans for the new house. It’s long and narrow – similar to our… View Post

Design Board: A Cosy & Feminine Living Room

I’m picturing this cheery space as the compact but cosy living room of a new grad’s first apartment; a sweet, girly space to come home to after long hours at your first job. Small but still good for lounging and entertaining. As Far As I Got With Our Last Loft Living Room

I never finished our old living room off the way I wanted to, but I did rather like the direction it was going in. When we moved in, there was a rather dominant red wall, complete with huge mismatched patches where the landlord had tried to cover damage left over from the previous tenants. Luckily, we got the go-ahead to paint neutral stripes. I was seriously missing the stripes we had in our previous master bedroom, so it was a… View Post

Mood Board Collective | Black, White & Pink

I picked an inspiration photo for this month’s mood board challenge specifically because it’s a colour combo that I wouldn’t normally choose. Taking this same black, white and pink inspiration image, myself and two other interiors bloggers created different room designs. Emmerson & Fifteenth | Family Room Mood Board I put together a comfy family room design in black, white and soft pink. There’s storage for kids’ toys and a plush velvet sectional for parents to lounge on. Pink can… View Post
