Design Board: A Cozy Combined Guest Room & Office

We’re still unpacking, so this is about as festive as you can expect from me this year…a combined office and guest room. We’ve never had a dedicated room for either, so I’d be happy with a multipurpose space like this, especially over the holidays. As is, our desk is shoved in a corner of the living room and our poor guests are stuck sharing with the kids. Lucky they love us!
Bookcase – Furniture Plus // Floral Print – Minted
Camera Print – Minted // Abstract Print – Minted
Lamp – Loaf // Desk – Oka // Chair – Alexander & Pearl
Fish Tank – All Pond Solutions // Sofa bed – Loaf
Cushion – Joss & Main // Basket – Serena & Lily // Rug – Oka
I’m digging the oak bookcase – perfect for binders and books, but if you left a drawer or two empty, it would give guests a place to store their stuff and feel more at home. And that lamp is just gorgeous…I might have to find a spot for one of those when we get our office area organized. I am having the hardest time finding a desk I like in the UK…I might resort to having one shipped from the States. Is that crazy? (Don’t answer that.) Happy holidays!

Love everything about this room. I also really like the bookcase. I like that you can style the shelves with pretty decor, but yet it is practical for guests to store a couple of their items in the drawers.

What a great design Lizzie! I love the idea of creating a guest room with a pull out sofa. After all we only have guests stay at our home 4 or 5 times a year! Mine as well make it a space we can enjoy too!
