Favourite Things: Love Your Home

You may remember me raving about how much I love the sofa we bought over summer. It’s the Clementine Chesterfield Sofa Bed from Love Your Home, and I genuinely have nothing but love for it. So much so that I recommended another one of their Chesterfields – the Charlotte – to a recent e-Design client. My love for this company doesn’t end with sofas, though, although they do do sofas – and chairs, and chaise longues – very well. Sofas & Other Upholstered Seating Tallulah Chaise I mean, just really. So pretty.… View Post

Low-Key Christmas Decorating

I stick with simple when it comes to Christmas decorating. I use the same stuff every year, and generally only add to it when I can find pretty things in the sales after Christmas. Tree decorating is a whole family affair, so it’s full of cardboard and craft paper creations. It’s even got tinsel on it, at the kids’ request. There are bits with loads of baubles clumped together and other bits that are rather sparse, and the beads are especially wonky this time around. We have a cute tradition… View Post

How to DIY a Waney/Live Edge Desk

Our bedroom has built-in cabinets either side of a Velux window. They’re handy for storage, but they were a catch-all for clutter. I felt like they were crying out to be better utilised. I wanted to add a big piece of wood to the top and turn it into a desk and vanity area, ideally with a live edge (also called a waney edge), where the natural edge of the wood slab isn’t squared off. Naively, I thought it would be pretty straightforward – find wood, put on top. Done. Where… View Post

Favorite Things: Hand-Painted Walls, Hi-Tops & Tiny Homes

DIY I love the hand-painted walls Kristen did in her hallway, and the rest of the space is gorgeous too. If you haven’t already, go check it out on The Hunted Interior. STYLE I’ve been eyeing these Paul Green high tops for months… they’re not cheap, but they sure are cute. And I took advantage of the Black Friday sales at Clarks and bought myself these boots. They’re crazy comfortable. FINDS I’m pretty much in love with all of French Connection’s rugs. I only wish they came in bigger sizes too.… View Post

e-Design: A Calm Country Cottage Living Room

I’ve been working on an e-Design plan for the cottage living room of one of the loveliest families ever. They’ve got two gorgeous kids, aged 4 and 2, and they wanted to carve out an adult space free from all the plastic paraphenalia that comes with living with small people. Inspiration The brief was a calm, clean, clutter-free area space with a traditional vibe, “typical of a Country Living feature.” I pulled together a few photos that, I thought, summarised the look we were going for and sent this over: They… View Post
