Favorite Things: A Shibori Headboard, A Green Bomber Jacket & A Boho Rental in LA

Finds I am head over heels for this shibori headboard from Urban Outfitters. It’s on sale – reduced from £400 to £276. My next room re-do will be Eleanor’s – we’ve split the kids up and they each have their own bedroom now. If this guy came in a single width, I’d snap it up in an instant for her room. Instead, it might have to be inspiration for a DIY version, if I can think of a way to mimick the look. I also noticed that West Elm have their cute wood and glass… View Post

Favorite Things: Concrete Lighting Under £175

Concrete is obviously having a moment, and I’m all for it. If you love concrete even half as much as I do, and want to incorporate it into your decor, concrete lighting is a really easy option. I chatted about my stunning concrete lamp the other day, but there is a lot of pretty concrete lighting out there right now. Perhaps not as pretty as mine, but still pretty. 😉 I’ve rounded up a few options for you, and they’re all under £175. A good chunk of them are under £75, actually.… View Post

A New Concrete Desk Lamp from Frontal Factory

I promised one more post about my new work space, because I need to talk about the concrete desk lamp from Frontal Factory. I spotted this concrete and brass beauty at Design Junction. It belongs to a series called Form Follows Function. I got in touch with the designer behind Frontal Factory, Mehmet Birtane, to see if there was any way I could get my hands on one. My concrete desk lamp was one of a very limited number. Fortunately, though, I was able to buy the one from the show… View Post

Introducing Emmerson & Fifteenth

Things are looking a little different around here, as you may have noticed. Living Pretty has had a makeover, and is now Emmerson and Fifteenth. Here’s a little backstory, if you’re interested… When I started blogging six years ago, I called my little corner of the interwebs Pretty City Things. My plan was to blog about decorating, DIY projects and living in Chicago. The name wasn’t terrible, but I felt like it pigeon-holed me. After a few long-since-deleted “Exploring Chicago” posts, I realised I really didn’t enjoy writing about the… View Post

2016 in Review

Happy (slightly belated) New Year! 2016 was the first full year for six years, that we haven’t moved house. We stayed put the entire year. That, on it’s own, makes me very happy indeed. It meant I was able to invest a lot more time and energy into making our little London abode our own. I completed two room makeovers, both for the One Room Challenge. The first, our shared kids room, has had the most hits of all the posts I published in 2016. It’s a bright, happy room, and… View Post
