Nursery Design Board

Nursery Design Board

Back before baby number two was on the horizon, I put together a thoroughly girly nursery design board. Now that there’s at least a 50% chance of actually being able to make it happen, I’ve tweaked it a bit – partly because some things weren’t available any more, but also because we’re going to stick with the existing wall color now rather than painting. I found a substitute rug for the Pottery Barn Kids one in my original design – this one from Dash & Albert. I think I love… View Post

Cute, Colourful Kids Rooms

Cute, Colourful Kids Rooms

For S’s big boy room, I’m embracing bright colours and kid-friendly design with a focus on lots of his favorite things. I’ve shared the design board for this room before (here and here), but here it is again: There wasn’t one particular room that inspired this design, but I did love the colors in this one: From a Crown Paint catalog Here are some other inspiring kids’ spaces that embrace colour and aren’t afraid to echo their occupants’ young, fun personalities. {Via} {Via} {Via}  {Isabella & Max Rooms via Made… View Post

Dreaming…

I’ve been playing around with ideas for a baby girl’s nursery – hopefully one day I can make this a reality! The wall colour could also work for a boy should an expected “she” turn out to be a “he” (as happened to one of my best friends, who had prepped everything in pink and found out at something like 8 months pregnant that their little one was very definitely not a girl).… View Post

Paint Colors for the Big Boy Room

Paint Colors for the Big Boy Room

I have finally decided on paint colors for my little man’s big boy room. I emailed our landlord two weeks ago, and he agreed that we could paint all three bedrooms (yay!), which has resulted in numerous trips to Sherwin Williams, Home Depot and Ben Moore and my amassing a small army of paint samples. I found this photo in a Crown paint catalog in England and loved the feel of the room (excuse the photo – I tried to find the image on their website, but had no luck).… View Post

DIY Art For A Soon-To-Be Big Boy Room

DIY Art For A Soon-To-Be Big Boy Room

I spotted some little wooden vehicles in a craft store the other day for 60 cents each and thought they would be perfect as wall art for my little man’s big boy room (he loves trucks, and pretty much anything else with wheels). I had some colourful scrap book paper left over from his baby book and I picked up some Ribba frames from Ikea. I mounted the vehicles on the paper and framed them without the glass. Eventually, they’ll be part of a picture wall with some family photos… View Post
