#LDF16: Design Junction Discoveries

Design Junction might just have been my favourite part of London Design Week last month. Just like Decorex, there was a lot of good stuff, but this was a little more down-to-Earth and attainable, especially all the pop-up shops. Sara Mellone was a stand-out for me. I love her minimalist brass coat racks so much. Her leather hangers were perfection too. I commented on how much I liked the designer’s earrings at the show, and she’d made those too (check out her jewelry here). Leather & Brass Hanger – £52 Photo Source… View Post

#LDF16: Decorex Discoveries

I spent most of last week exploring London Design Festival. It was a tad overwhelming but incredibly inspirational. I didn’t get to half the stuff I wanted to see, but I will share the highlights for the bits I did see. Decorex is first up. If you’re not familiar, Decorex is a huge design show with a focus on luxury interiors. I spent four hours there and was practically running around at the end trying to squeeze it all in before I had to leave. I listened to a panel… View Post

Ideal Home Show Discoveries

Ideal Home Show Discoveries

I went to the Ideal Home Show last weekend, and I made a few new discoveries. There are three furnished show homes in the middle of the exhibition, and wandering around, there were quite a few pretty things that caught my eye. When I looked each one up on the source list, almost all of them were from French Connection. I had no idea French Connection even had a homeware line. Having since perused their website, I’m even more smitten, and the price points are reasonable too. Very exciting. Here… View Post

Renegade Craft Fair: What You Missed

Renegade Craft Fair: What You Missed

Last weekend, I went to check out the Renegade Craft Fair with a girlfriend and NO KIDS. It was awesome. I was a bit over-excited by all the pretty things and the fact that I could actually look at them all without having to shout “Don’t touch that!” every two minutes. I bought more than I probably should have, but it was all so pretty. Most of the vendors had Etsy shops or other online stores, so you can check them out too. I came home with three necklaces for… View Post

The Merchandise Mart: Artopolis & DreamHome (part two)

The Merchandise Mart: Artopolis & DreamHome (part two)

You know those gorgeous Chinese antique cabinets-turned-side tables I found yesterday? Well, I was very tempted to go back today and get them. I got in touch with the dealer, who informed me that, five minutes after the show opened this morning, they were sold. It’s probably for the best – they were out of my budget – but I am a bit disappointed. I’m going to save up a bit and then hunt for something similar down the road. Anyway, back to The Merchandise Mart and the other lovely… View Post
