This One Room Challenge is going to be very last minute, I think. It’s already week three, as in: the reveal is three weeks away. I’m panicking, mostly because the one key design feature of this bedroom makeover – the removable mudcloth wallpaper – probably won’t arrive until the last week, if I’m lucky. Because, um, I haven’t actually ordered it yet.

Anyway, now they’re here, and they’re good.
It’s basically a toss-up between the two mudcloth-inspired designs, top left and centre. I thought I was set on the middle one, and I think I still am.
It’s got pink undertones which work with the rug, and it’s so pretty – more so in person than in photos, I think.
But then, this guy distracted me for a moment.
It’s a more literal take on the mudcloth trend, and I suspect a whole room of it might be too busy, but I do love it. If you’re reading this in the early hours of Thursday morning, weigh in before I hit purchase!
The other issue is the blinds. They’re a really pretty, soft grey linen stripe, and on their own, I love them. With the wallpaper?
Meh. It’s not terrible, but it’s not great either. I had them custom-made (i.e. non-returnable) a couple of months ago. I hadn’t finalised the rest of the room design, but it was already getting bright early in the mornings, and we needed a second blackout layer to keep E sleeping and me sane. So do I pay the money to switch them out with something else? I ordered a few fabric samples just to see…
If I did change them, I’d definitely do a solid. As pretty as those shibori-style ones are, they’re not a good colour match for the other navy already in the room. I need to decide today, though, if I am going to go for it. (Also, no judgment on the lack of ironing, please and thank you.)
So that’s where I’m at this week. Indecisive, mostly. I will leave you with a bonus dog, for your viewing pleasure.
