Design Inspo | One Room Challenge Room Makeovers

There were so many amazing room makeovers that came out of the Spring 2016 One Room Challenge. I worked on a bright, gender-neutral bedroom for my kids, but here are a few of my favourites from the other designers.

Featured Designers

I’ll stick with my top three of the twenty featured designers. I am head over heels for Waiting On Martha’s new team office – I love industrial spaces anyway, and this one is so wonderfully calm, warm and refined – such a lovely juxtaposition…

Making It Lovely’s bedroom/den space is just dreamy. And again with the juxtaposition – classic Victorian features with a good dose of quirk. Those bugs!

Claire Brody killed it too – her parents’ traditional yet modern living room is stunning.

Guest Participants

There were over 225 guest participants in this round of the ORC, and I’ve enjoyed perusing every single one of their fabulous room makeovers. It was very hard to pick favorites – I could have easily listed like seventy rooms here!

Dining Room Makeovers

The black dining room makeover by Suburban Bees is one of my favorite spaces of the whole challenge.

I love the eclectic mix of styles in Windgate Lane’s dining room.

Nurseries and Kids’ Bedroom Makeovers

There were a lot of awesome kids’ room makeovers. I love this feminine but not overly pink nursery for Little Pink Notebook’s new addition. That floral mobile is gorgeous.

This nursery from Preciously Me has so many lovely details. I especially love the DIY wooden bead shelf.

Design Loves Detail created a wonderfully textured but still very calming space for her baby boy.

This Mama’s Dance white-washed all the pine walls in her kids’ bunk room and the space turned out so good!

Annabode created a sweet space for her little boy that looks rather sophisticated but rocks a Star Wars theme in the best way…

Lehman Lane turned a double closet into a single with a built-in bed nook. Such a genius idea for a small space!

And Postbox Designs made the most of a wide hallway with a new homework area for her kiddos.

Evidently the black/blush/brass combo is my jam right now – Teal & Grey’s little girl’s room has got it down.

Bedroom Makeovers

The kiddos weren’t the only ones who lucked out with fancy new spaces to sleep. My top bedroom pick is from Love on Sunday. The neutral space is so serene, and I want to steal the eucalyptus-over-the-bed idea.

Living Room Makeovers

Iris Nacole’s “men’s lounge” (her hubby’s man cave) is awesome – up in my top three for sure. I love everything about this room.

I was expecting a lot from A Place of My Taste, and Aniko didn’t disappoint with her gorgeous boho midcentury family room!

Outdoor Spaces

I love the astro-poof in Kate Collins Interiors’ envy-inducing back yard.

Bathroom Makeovers

Finally, some lovely little bathrooms…
