London Calling

So here’s the thing: we moved to England.

We don’t have a house yet, but all our stuff is off the boat (clearing customs as we speak) and we just bought  ourselves a new set of wheels. For the time being, we’re staying here

We loved Chicago, and although we made some awesome friends there, both our families were a plane ride away and we missed them. We’d talked about moving to the UK in a year or two but then J rather unexpectedly left his job in May, so we decided to take the opportunity to do it sooner instead. He was able to find a new job in London, so here we are.

I haven’t even shown you all of our last loft yet, but I did take photos before we started selling things and packing up. Now we’re looking for a rental within a reasonable commute of London (that’s affordable, nice and close to good schools that aren’t all full – not an easy task). The plan then is to buy a place in a year or two and settle. We’ve lived in six different places  in the eight years we’ve been married and we are so ready to just stay put.

So that’s why I’ve been MIA for a while. I’m still not going to get back to blogging frequently for a while, but at least now you know why. And if I’m not back before the 28th, Happy Thanksgiving!
