A Little Bit of English Country…in the City

My parents just put their house on the market, and it’s rather gorgeous. It’s an 18th century cottage very close to Salisbury city center and the cathedral.

It’s spread over three floors. I had no idea but it’s actually about the same size as our condo – 1400 square feet versus our 1470. I always thought theirs was bigger, although I suppose it’s because we have a lot of our square footage tied up in walk-in closets and other storage (which I am definitely not complaining about).

You enter into the living room. It’s nice and light and has two fireplaces (the other one is back left, off camera), pretty built-ins (again, mostly off camera) and exposed beams on the ceiling.
That doorway you can see back left leads to the dining area, and then on to the kitchen.
There are double doors off the kitchen to a little courtyard…
…with steps leading up to the rest of the pretty garden.
Back into the house, the bedroom we stay in when we visit has a lovely brick wall and another fireplace.

There’s a Jack and Jill bathroom connecting to the landing and the master.

The master itself overlooks the garden.

There’s another bedroom/office on the middle floor but I don’t have a photo of that one. Then upstairs again is one more bedroom and a big bathroom with a lovely claw foot tub.
