Trip Report: Laguna Beach

The past few months have been crazy, people. Baby E was born in February (as you know), we had family visiting till mid-March, we spent most of April in the UK, we moved house in May, and we just got back from a week in California. Both kiddos have now met their grandparents, uncles and auntie and all six of their living great grandparents, which is awesome. Still, I am more than happy not to have to get on another plane for the foreseeable future!

We rented a cute little cottage in Laguna Beach while we were visiting family nearby…

The decor wasn’t anything to shout about, but it was cute. The breakfast nook in particular was bright and beachy.

The house had great bones – I’d love to decorate a beach house.

I got a bit of inspiration from a store in downtown Laguna called Tuvalu. I’d have snapped this amazing chair up in a second – it was super sculptural and (surprise, surprise) I loved the nail head trim.

I also loved this turquoise glass lamp…

…and this woven side table. It was dang expensive – about $700 I think – but so pretty….

If I could have, I’d have come home with a suitcase filled with these gorgeous plates:

And, while I’m not normally into subway signs, I think I’d make an exception for something like this if I did have a beach house to play with:

I was also drawn to this print. I didn’t catch the artist’s name, but I might use it as inspiration if and when I ever get my oils out:
I’m hoping that now we’re back, I’ll have more time to get back to blogging. I’ve still got a few things to share from our old place, and I’ll be back to share pics of our new place soon.
